How the comparison works

The list shows a selection of the mobile broadband plans we compare. Each offer shows the first-year comparison price. It is the total cost for the first twelve months divided by twelve, so a campaign price that ends after a few months is weighed together with the price that applies afterwards.

Prices and terms can change. Check the terms on the operator’s page before you order. The operators’ order pages are in Swedish, and the terms you accept when ordering are the operator’s own.

What is mobile broadband?

Mobile broadband is internet that runs over the mobile network instead of a fixed fibre cable. You put a SIM card in a router or another device and connect over 4G or 5G. With 5G it is often a comparable but cheaper alternative to home internet, and it can be an option where fibre is missing. Speed and price depend on the coverage at your address, so check it before you order.

This page compares mobile broadband only. It does not cover fixed fibre broadband. If you need a plan for your phone, see mobile plans in Sweden.

Router and SIM card

How you get a router varies between operators. Comviq and Tele2 offer a 5G router at a heavily discounted one-off cost with a 24 month contract period. With Telia and Tre you pay for the router in instalments, and Telenor lends you a router. Hallon, Fello and Chilimobil sell SIM cards, and you use your own router. Always check the terms with the operator, since offers and conditions can change.

A router instalment is not the same thing as a contract period on the subscription, and a contract period is not the same thing as a notice period. Router packages are often tied to Sweden, so they do not work as roaming when you travel abroad.

Holiday homes and temporary use

Mobile broadband is often used in holiday homes, since no cable has to be installed. Coverage can be weaker in remote areas, so check coverage at the exact address. If you only need internet part of the year, check the operator’s terms for pausing or cancelling the subscription, and for any contract period.

Coverage

Coverage differs between operators and addresses. Each operator has its own coverage map where you can search your address, and you should check 4G and 5G separately if you need 5G. Coverage maps and more detail, in Swedish: Täckning.

What you need to order

Requirements differ between operators and plans. They can include ID and a delivery or home address in Sweden. Check the operator’s requirements before you order.

Frequently asked questions

What is mobile broadband?

Mobile broadband is internet over the mobile network, with a SIM card in a router or another device, using 4G or 5G. With 5G it is often a comparable but cheaper alternative to home internet, and it can suit places where fibre is missing. It depends on the coverage at your address.

Can mobile broadband replace home internet?

With 5G it often can, and it is often cheaper than home internet over a fixed connection. Speed and reliability depend on the coverage at your address and on how many people share the connection, so check coverage with the operator and compare the first-year comparison price and contract period before you order.

Does a router come with the plan?

It varies. Comviq and Tele2 offer a 5G router at a heavily discounted one-off cost with a 24 month contract period. Telia and Tre offer instalments and Telenor lends a router. With Hallon, Fello and Chilimobil you get a SIM card and use your own router. Check the terms with the operator.

Can I use mobile broadband in a holiday home?

Often yes, but it depends on coverage at the exact address, so check it with the operator before you order. Check the operator’s terms for pausing or cancelling the subscription if you only need it part of the year.

Is there a contract period?

It depends on the operator and the plan. Some plans have no contract period on the subscription, while others have 24 months, which can give a lower monthly price or a discounted router. Check the terms with the operator, and note that a contract period is not the same as a notice period.

How is the list sorted?

By the first-year comparison price, lowest first. It is the total cost for the first twelve months divided by twelve, and it is shown on each offer.

Is coverage the same everywhere?

No. Coverage varies by location and between operators. Check the operator’s coverage map for your address before you order.

Where do I order?

You order from the operator. Use the button on the offer to continue to the operator’s page. We do not take orders ourselves.
